Atlantic Cutting Horse Assn

The Augusta Futurity is an equestrian event for cutting horses. The Futurity is held annually in the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center. The 2010 event paid a purse of over $1,000,000. It is the largest and richest cutting horse event east of the Mississippi and is also one of the top six in the world. The competition is complemented by the Western Family Fun Festival and Championship Bull Riding which encompass the first weekend of the event. A western dance, quarter horse sale, authentic western cowboy parade and over 250 commercial exhibitors and craftsmen of quality western wear, jewelry and tack, along with exhibits of trailers, utility vehicles, trucks and custom haulers. The economic impact of the Augusta Futurity on the Augusta Area has been more than $16 million each year for the last four years.
